Purpose
There exists the demand for this Statement referencing our Policy regarding matters of our customers’ private and personal information stemming from the Commonwealth Privacy Act 1988, which espouses National Privacy Principles, the thrusts of which prescribe the manner in which organisations should deal with individual’s personal information.
Our Respect for Your Privacy
We here at Echidna Tours are committed to the protection of your (our Customers’) personal information in accordance with those National Privacy Principles.
The following paragraphs set out to detail how we do collect, use, maintain the custody, disclose and furnish you access to yourself, any such information as has been so accumulated about only yourself.
Acquisition of, Our Use of, and Archiving of Your Private Information
In the normal course of events involving us with our Customers, for us to provide them with a seat on a Day Tour (pre-defined itinerary), we only seek and retain temporarily, your name, and the name and/or address of the agreed pick-up location. At the end of the excursion, the temporary record, limited as it is, is discarded, so there is NO retention of these details in our System.
In other circumstances wherein we need to serve you an order confirmation and/or Sale Invoice, or other material relevant to the Service we are offering, and when we need to open an account with you, requiring more identifying data, we shall seek that in voice by phone, or in writing via. either surface mail or internet (electronic) mail facilities, and the data so obtained shall be entered into our Computer Managed Accounts and Records Keeping Data-files on Office Machines.
The sole function relating to the keeping of that data, is the delivery of the Service Invoice(s) and Receipt(s), and as necessary from time to time, to effect settlement of any such unresolved instruments.
There are no situations in which we can envisage becoming a party to the disclosure of any Customer-related information to any other organisation whatsoever.
Exercise of Your Rights to Our Data Relating to You
Your specific access to particulars of your own personal information in our files, may without prejudice, be made available to you through the delivery of hardcopy print-outs of Statements of Account only; and that by virtue of the exercise of particular care that the said information exclusively into the right hands, and that in so doing private information relating to ANY other Customer is in no way disclosed (wrongly to you), or compromised in any way.
